Welcome Message from the Leadership:
We welcome and
invite students, parents, teachers, specialists and administrators
to join us in facilitating the success of our schools and every
student according
to his or her needs.
Mission Statement:
We psychologists,
working collaboratively with students, parents, community agencies
and all other school staff, are invested in facilitating the
development of mentally healthy, socially and educationally
competent, productive community members.
Services:
We provide consulting
and assessment services to all students, especially those at risk or
high achieving. Working with others, we identify strengths and
problem areas and help define learning experiences and strategies
which will optimize these students’ potential for successful
achievement to graduation.
Programs:
Currently we are all
working toward helping to implement the Response to
Intervention/Three Tier Model, which are programs geared to
providing effective learning experiences for all students based on
each student’s individual needs. This program is the implementation
of the 2004 Reauthorization of IDEA. This program is at its
beginning stages and requires extensive team work. It is our attempt
to move beyond the usual evaluation and placement of students at
risk to providing more comprehensive school psychology services.
These services would include team working with administrators,
specialists, teachers, parents and community agencies to identify
and evaluate effective strategies for improving students’ learning
and behavior and mental health, consulting with others and actually
being involved with students in various interventions. Also, working
with these others in efforts to improve the effectiveness of the
school district generally.
