        Policy 004.1 Student Advisory Representatives

 

 

004.1.  STUDENT ADVISORY REPRESENTATIVES

 

 

Section 1.    Purpose

 

 

There shall be two (2) Student Advisory Representatives from Reading High School.

 

 

Section 2.    Guidelines

 

 

These representatives shall be appointed by the principal of the high school.

 

 

Appointments shall be made based on scholarship, leadership, participation in school functions and willingness to serve on the Board.

 

 

Vacancies shall be filled by nomination of the high school principal.

 

 

Newly-elected Student Advisory Representatives to the Board of School Directors shall be confirmed and seated by the Board of School Directors at the first regular meeting held after July 1.

 

 

The term of office for a Student Advisory Representative shall begin September 1 and end June 30.

 

 

If any student, having been elected to the position of Student Advisory Representative to the Board, shall neglect or refuse to attend two (2) successive meetings of the School Board, unless detained by sickness or prevented by necessary absence from the school district, or shall neglect or refuse to act in his/her official capacity as a Student Advisory Member to the Board, that student will be removed by the principal.
