101. PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION/MISSION STATEMENT

A democratic society is founded on the worth of each individual and the value of his/her unique contribution to that society.  The Board is committed to providing a system of education that will offer equal educational opportunities in accordance with a student's interests, abilities and needs, consistent with available resources.

The purpose of education in the schools of this district is to facilitate development of the potential of each student to the fullest.  Education is the guidance of the student through the learning processes to the end that the individual becomes personally effective in a dynamic society.
