Class Officers of 2006
by: Ashley Blount, Staff Writer

Job well done to the officers of 2006: President, Minnie Ruiz, Vice President, Chaz Butler, Treasurer, Chris Cooper and Secretary, Niki Lee. These selected students were voted into office by their fellow classmates, and won out of many who ran for the same positions.
With their advisor Mr. Bower, these leaders have put in a lot of time and dedication to make this year a success. This year, our Senior Class Officers have done a good job in making this year as fun as possible.
Though many seniors do not make their year a blast and involve         themselves in any activities, our officers make a way to help those who want to make their last year at Reading High School something worthwhile.
This year, our officers have put      together many events, not only fundraising for our class, but ultimate fun. Some of the events that have taken place this year were fundraising, which included bumper stickers and The Black and White Semi-Formal, which was a senior highlight for many.
The other events that will take place are the Hershey Park All-Nighter, on  Friday May, 19, 2006 from 10 pm till 5 am, Six Flags Trip in May, Senior Picnic, Graduation on June 5, 2006, and much more. Another occasion is, of course, the Senior Prom, the biggest event   during the senior year.
The Prom will be taking place on May 12, 2006 from 6 pm to 11 pm and will be a complete blast. Not only have our Senior Officers put together a great year, but they are still doing their best for the Class of 2006 to end with a BANG.

National Honor Society
by: Brytelle Walton, Staff Writer

National Honor Society has been in Reading High School for a number of years. Also known as NHS, it is one of the most prestigious clubs to be a member of in the world.
NHS serves to honor students who not only excel in academics, but     scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students are required not only to have good grades, but also to continuously display leadership and service.
This club, unlike most of our clubs, is only open to students in grades 10-12 Freshmen ranking the top 50 in their class by the third quarter, and who       continue to stay steadfast in that direction, are eligible to earn this honor during their sophomore, junior, or senior year.
The students of NHS aren't just about getting good grades; they are about  serving others, and being great leaders. NHS is known for doing such service projects as Meals on Wheels, fundraising for catastrophic events such as the Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and others.
These students count on each other for help, encouragement, and most of all, friendship. The students stay heavily active, not only in the classroom, but also outside in the community. These are students that truly are some of Reading High's Best!
