Principal's Message:

To the Students of Northeast Middle School:

The time has come for students, of Northeast Middle School, to take another step on the long road of academic preparation to become productive members of society.  Throughout the course of this school year, you have all grown physically, mentally and academically.  Your achievements shall become part of the building blocks to adulthood.  Your failures shall become motivation and strength to work harder toward your goals.  Northeast Middle School has given you the tools to sculpt your future.  It is your continued steadfast commitment that will determine the quality of your academic masterpiece.  The teachers and staff of Northeast Middle School wish you all the best on your endless journey of learning.

Sincerely,

Mr. Alex Brown
            Principal

Pledge of Success

The Pledge of Success was introduced to Mr. Brown by a teacher at Northeast Middle School.  The June 30, 2008 issue of Sports Illustrated contained an article titled, “How Dreams Die," by George Dohrmann.  In the article, the author shared the Pledge of Success that the featured youth’s teacher had introduced to him.

As with the article, the Pledge of Success is a powerful message that motivates, creates accountability and generates hope.  It is our goal that all of our students memorize and own this Pledge of Success.

The Pledge of Success

“Today is a new day, a new beginning.
It has been given to me as a new gift.
I can either use it or throw it away.
What I can do today will affect me tomorrow.
I cannot blame anyone but myself if I do not succeed.
I promise to use this day to the fullest
by giving my best, realizing it can never come back again.
This is my life and I choose to make it a success.”
