The Reading School District will dismiss early on Tuesday, March 3 due to the snow and ice expected this afternoon. Secondary schools will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m., and elementary schools will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. No afternoon PreK. Offices will remain open. The snowstorm is expected to begin shortly after 1 p.m., and the brunt of the storm is expected between 3-5 p.m.
Middle School Open Gym rescheduled due to early dismissal
Due to the planned early dismissal on Tuesday, the Middle School Softball Open Gym that was scheduled for today is canceled. It will be rescheduled for Wednesday. If you have questions, contact Coach Danielle Greene at email@example.com.
City Police received another report of an attempted child luring on Tuesday.
According to the Reading Eagle:
The latest report came from a 16-year-old girl who said a man in a pickup truck that stopped in the 700 block of Spring Street called to her as she was walking to Reading High School about 8 a.m. and asked her to get in his truck, said Capt. Damond Kloc of the criminal investigations division.
In Tuesday morning’s incident, a white, middle aged man with long hair and a salt-and-pepper reportedly said “come over here” to the teen and asked her to get into his truck. She hurried away and the man drove off.
The vehicle was described as a green, four-door pickup with a ladder and a blue carpet hanging off the bed.
Basketball Tickets and T-shirts for sale
The RHS Athletic Department will be selling tickets for the March 7 State Playoff game.
