2019-20 Enrollment Changes (Due to COVID-19)

  • Reading School District will again accept 2019-20 enrollments for new students beginning on Monday, April 20. Please note, these enrollments are for the 2019-20 school year only. For example, a third-grade student who moved to Reading in April 2020. Withdraws will not be processed at this time. During the school closure, families will have two options for remote enrollment: 

    Online Option
    Complete the Google Enrollment Form and a Reading School District clerk will contact you by phone to begin enrollment. This form is soley for 2019-20 school year enrollment. Please do not use this form for PreK or Kindergarten registration for the 2020-21 school year. 

    Phone Option
    Call 484-258-7311 and leave a voicemail with your full name, phone number, best time to be reached and language preference. Messages may be left in English or Spanish. Please speak slowly and clearly to ensure that your message is understood. A Reading School District clerk will contact you by phone to begin enrollment. This option is soley for 2019-20 school year enrollment. Please do not use this form for PreK or Kindergarten registration for the 2020-21 school year.

2020-21 PreK and Kindergarten Registration Dates

  • New enrollments for the 2020-21 school year, including Pre-K and Kindergarten registration, have been postponed. We are hoping to reschedule these enrollments in July or August 2020, depending on direction from the Governor’s Office and PDE. We will share information with families once registration dates are planned and finalized.

    We are excited that your child will be enrolling in Reading School District! To ease this process, please read the following tips.

    Determine your school: 
     
    What you'll need:
    • Birth certificate (baptismal certificates and hospital certificates are also accepted)
    • Immunization records
    • Photo ID of the parent or guardian
    • Proof of residency (mortgage, lease or utility bill)
      If you do not have one of the following in your name, you must provide us with a notarized proof of residency form upon enrollment.

    The following documents are not required, however, they are helpful during enrollment:
    • The name and address of the school your child most recently attended
    • Your child's most recent report card
    • Current special education documents, if applicable  
     
     

Pre-K Registration

    • Child must be four (4) years of age before September 1

    • Official documentation of age must be presented at registration (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, notarized birth statement)

    • Proof of immunization must be provided

    • Proof of residence must be provided (mortgage, lease or utility bill)

    • One parent/guardian must accompany the child at the time of registration

    • Parent/guardian must present photo identification at the time of registration

      Note: We have pre-kindergarten spaces remaining for the 2019-20 school year at the following schools. To enroll, contact the school directly.

Kindergarten Registration

    • Child must be five (5) years of age before September 1.

    • Official documentation of age must be presented at registration (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, notarized birth statement).

    • One parent/guardian must accompany the child at the time of registration.

    • Proof of immunization must be provided

    • Proof of residence must be provided (mortgage, lease or utility bill)

    • Kindergarten students will be interviewed on registration day so parents are asked to bring children to the registration

    • Parent/guardian must present photo identification at the time of registration.
