100 Book Challenge
The 100 Book Challenge encourages children to read more of the books they like, at their own pace, and at their independent reading level. Your child will be bringing books home from our schools’ collections to read with you every night. Once your child has read the book, or a portion of a chapter book, we ask that you sign their log sheet indicating your support and encouragement as well as acknowledging their accomplishments! Remind your child that the nightly reading should be fun and easy to read.
The 100 Book Challenge helps students become better readers. Students get to choose their own reading materials, to develop academic reading habits, and to read for enjoyment on a consistent basis. When given the time to read books at their “just right” level, students become more confident readers and writers.
