Committee of the Whole Meeting - May 17, 2017 
With a vote of 8-0, the Reading School District Board of Directors approved final proposed budget, which includes no real estate tax increase and no cuts in services, programs or staff. One board member was absent from the budget voting session. The budget is available for review on the district website,www.ReadingSD.org/budget. The School Board will vote on the final budget during the Regular Board meeting on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.

Budget Workshop - May 4, 2017
Reading School District held a board workshop tonight. Chief Financial Officer Wayne Gehris reviewed preliminary plans for the 2017-18 budget. At this point, there is a projected $3.6 million budget deficit; however, we are looking at ways to close this gap through our fund balance and the restructuring of existing debt. There is no planned real estate tax increase, and there are no planned cuts in services, programs or staff. The final proposed budget will be presented at the Committee of the Whole Board meeting on Wednesday, May 17 at 6 p.m. Following that meeting, the budget will be available for review on the district website,www.ReadingSD.org/budget. The School Board will vote on the final proposed budget during the Regular Board meeting on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
