Note: There are special schedules posted for the 1st day of school.
School Supplies
-
Students are welcome to bring their own supplies to school, but it is optional.
Schools send home complete lists with their back-to-school information packets. However, the basics include full size backpack, No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, 24-pack crayons, dry-erase markers, two-pocket folders, glue sticks, erasers and notebooks. For older grades, highlighters and rulers are also suggested.
Some classroom teachers also appreciate when they receive boxes of tissues, hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes to prevent germs from spreading. Additional supplies include copy paper for classrooms. Kid-size socks are also helpful, as elementary students use them as erasers for their dry-erase boards.
Please note, teachers (particularly at the secondary level) might also request additional items, such as three-ring binders, for specific classes. Students would receive that information directly from teachers at the start of school.
FREE Vaccine Clinics
-
Currently enrolled RSD students, ages 4 to 18, who have no insurance or medical assistance can receive their necessary vaccines during our free Vaccine Clinics this summer. An interpreter will be available at each clinic. Students must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardian and should bring their most recent shot records. The clinics will be held:
