  • Kangaroo Visit

    Things were really jumping at Glenside Elementary on Friday, when Barn Hill Preserve visited the school. The assembly included a bearded dragon, a wallaby and a parrot, among other animals.

  • A Day at the Movies
    Shout out to Robert Lowry, one of Mrs. Dianna’s former student teachers at 13th and Union Elementary. Mr. Lowry, a supporter of music and the arts who now lives and works in Los Angeles, generously paid for a group of 5th grade students who are involved in the school's spring school show to watch Black Panther at the IMAX Theater in downtown Reading.

    Congratulations to the following basketball teams that celebrated undefeated seasons: 

    • KTB/16th and Haak Elementary Girls team (grades 1-3)

    Defending Champs
    Congratulations to the RHS Boys Basketball Team, which defeated Bensalem on Saturday. The team will play C.B. West at Liberty High School at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14 in the second round of the PIAA boys basketball playoffs.

    Parent Meetings 

    We will have three parent meetings on March 13 and 14 to discuss the pros of our two grade configuration options and gather your input. We will also briefly discuss school safety and the code of student conduct book.

    Class Dojo: Art students at Lauer's Park Elementary are working on some very cool Pete the Cat drawings with teacher Mrs. Evans-Loos. We can't wait to see the finished products!

  • Snow Make-Up Days
    Reminder: Our snow make-up days are scheduled for Monday, March 26; Tuesday, March 27; Wednesday, March 28; and Monday, April 2. 

    Red Knight Flags for Sale
    The Reading High School Virtual Enterprise class is selling Red Knight flags. As part of the class’s social entrepreneurship theme, 20% of the money raised will be donated to the Reading YMCA to help homeless teens. Cost is $18. Make checks payable to: RHS – P3 VEI Class. Deadline is March 28, and delivery is scheduled for the third week in April. To order, contact teacher Rick Gochnauer, Room 210 at Reading High School, or call RHS at 610-371-5705.
