June 23, 2021 Regular Board Meeting

  • The school board voted 9-0 to approve the final 2021-22 budget. The budget totals $357,072,838 and does not include a tax increase. There are no proposed cuts in staff, services and programs. You can view the final budget in the document viewer below.

May 19, 2021 Committee of the Whole

  • The school board held a budget presentation during the Committee of the Whole Meeting on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

    The preliminary budget totals $349,958,437. Currently, there is a $4.1 million deficit between 2021-22 expenditures and revenue, however, the district has available fund balance to cover the current projected deficit.

    The preliminary budget does not include a tax increase, and there are no proposed cuts in staff, services or programs.
     
    During the meeting, members voted 8-0 to approve the preliminary budget. Member Julio Martinez was absent from the meeting.

    Next Steps:

    1. The school board and district administration will continue to discuss the budget numbers.

    2. The district administration will solicit feedback from staff regarding your ideas for available ESSER funding.

    3. The board will vote on the final budget on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Tax Bills

  • If you have questions regarding your tax bill, contact our Tax Office at 484-258-7012 or by email at taxes@readingsd.org.  The Tax Office located at the Administration Building will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
