The Reading School District is instrumental in assuring that funding for Reading’s educational needs are well-managed while maintaining oversight of the critical support operations such as transportation, food service, and facilities. In keeping with this mission, we are responsible to the local taxpayers who contribute to meet the revenue needs of the District, so that we may invest wisely in our future. All financial related decisions are the responsibility of the Business Services Department. This includes budget preparation, financial reporting, payroll processing and reporting, purchasing of goods and services, accounts payable/receivable, investment of funds, insurances, debt and financing operations that are critical to the operation of the business side of the school district.

The 2018 school tax amount for the City of Reading property owners is due by November 30, 2018. Beginning December 1, 2018, a 10 percent penalty will be added to the amount owed. Payments are due in full by January 31, 2019. Any outstanding balances will be turned over to Berks County Tax Claim and will be subject to additional fees.
