Prevention

- Cover your cough or sneeze by bending your arm across your face and covering your nose and mouth with the inside of your elbow. Do not use your hands.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Clean items and areas in your home that are touched many times. These may include counters, light switches, cell phones, electronic remotes, and areas in the bathroom.
- If you or your children have any chronic illnesses, contact your primary health care provider for additional information and steps to take to avoid becoming ill.

Reporting

Notify your child’s health care provider if your child has any of the following symptoms:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue
- Difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste of smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea/vomiting
- Diarrhea
Call 1-877-PA-HEALTH and follow any recommendations including, but not limited to, contacting your healthcare provider.
You should also call the number if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or had close contact for a prolonged period of time with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19.
