JuliAnne Kline, New Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning

JuliAnne Kline has been hired as RSD’s new Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. Most recently, she served as the Director of Instructional Services and Professional Development.

“Ms. Kline is a dedicated educator who has touched the lives of thousands of children in our community,” said Dr. Murray. “We value her passion for seeing each and every student reach for their potential, and we’re proud to elevate her to Assistant Superintendent to support even more students and staff in her new role.”

In her new role, Ms. Kline will work closely with the Special Education and Social Services departments, as well as the Reading Virtual Academy and the elementary principals.

“I look forward to having a greater impact on the students and staff of RSD, people I have called my work family for 28 years,” she said. “I am excited to work more closely with different departments than I have in the past, all focused on the best interest of our students.”

Ms. Kline joined the RSD community in 1994 as an elementary teacher at Amanda Stout and 12th and Marion Elementary Schools from 1994-2001. JuliAnne moved into administrative roles in 2001, first as the Director of K-12 Instruction from 2001-2005, then as the Director of Secondary Education from 2005-2008. From 2008-2016, she served as the Principal of Tyson-Schoener and Riverside Elementary Schools. Since 2016, JuliAnne has served as the Director of Instructional Services and Professional Development.

Ms. Kline earned her B.S. in Elementary Education, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership, and Principal Certification from Penn State University, and her Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania.
