2022 Summer Weekender Bag Program | SIGN UP BY JUNE 15

The Summer Weekender Backpack Program (in partnership with Helping Harvest Food Bank) provides participating children with a bag of nourishing yet easy-to-prepare food to sustain them through the weekend. Each Weekender bag contains assorted, shelf-stable meal options such as cereal, pasta, skillet dinners, soup, juice or shelf-stable milk options, and kid-friendly snacks. The Weekender bag does not require refrigeration.

Who is Eligible?

All Reading students are eligible. Children do not need to be present to pick up the Weekender bag. 

Distribution Locations:

  • Amanda Stout Elementary
  • Lauer's Park Elementary
  • Central Middle School 
  • Northwest Middle School
  • Reading Senior High School

Distribution Times:

Food bags will be available at your selected location every Thursday, beginning June 23nd, from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M.

SIGN UP TODAY to receive a Weekender bag.

Fill out the form once per student. It is not necessary to fill out the form every week; once you enroll in the program, your child is eligible for a Weekender bag every week.


The deadline to sign up for the first distribution is 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 15. 
The first distribution will be Thursday, June 23, 2022.
