District Closed on Monday, June 20 for Observance of Juneteenth

In observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday, all Reading School District schools and offices will be CLOSED on Monday, June 20, 2022.

The District will postpone the start of the summer school program to Tuesday, June 21, 2022.  Students should report to the first day of summer school on Tuesday.

Juneteenth was made a federal holiday in 2021 in recognition of the end of slavery in the United States. It is observed every year on June 19, but since it falls on a Sunday this year, it will be officially observed on Monday.  Families are encouraged to use this time to learn and reflect on the significance of the holiday.
