Lindsey Mason · Glenside/10th and Penn Librarian

Staff Spotlight Lindsey Mason

Name:
Lindsey Mason (previously Lindsey Riegner)

Position/School:
Librarian at 10th & Penn Elementary and Glenside Elementary

I grew up in:
Bechtelsville, PA (right next to Boyertown)

Family:
Husband, Corey; four stepsons – Quinn, Cole, Cash and Brandon; and Lucy, our 2-year old pit bull mix

Education:
BS in Elementary Education (with minors in music and elementary mathematics) and an MLS in Library Science. I have taken an interest in STEM and am thinking about going back for my doctorate with a concentration in STEM.

What makes you #RSDproud
Everyone who is involved in this district. Even though I didn't grow up in Reading, I am proud of the teachers who give their all, the administrators who work long hours, and the students who surprise us with their loving acts of kindness. It is so true - Once a Red Knight, Always a Red Knight. And I am proud to be a Red Knight!

What was your first job?

I was 15, and I dried off cars at our local car wash. I made good money doing that!

Teacher who inspired me:
Mrs. Faust was my second grade teacher. She taught me how to spell the word "awesome," how to be awesome, and she was the greatest hugger in the entire world. She goes to my church, so I still see her on a regular basis. She is still such a lovely person.

If you had a time machine, would go back in time or into the future? Why?
I would go back in time so that I could spend some time with people who I have lost. Just a few more minutes with them is all I need.

If you could pick three famous people to be a part of your entourage, who would you pick?
The Rock, Rosa Parks, Winston Churchill

What’s your favorite quote?
This question is so hard for me because I love so many quotes. But I think my favorite is: Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love. ~ Mother Teresa

Keep shining, Lindsey! 😎
