What makes you #RSD Proud?
Working for RSD is not just my job, it is my passion! Each day I am amazed by the resiliency and grit that our students demonstrate. I consider myself lucky to be part of the RSD family, home of the greatest students, staff and families! I may not be from Reading, but that doesn’t stop me from considering it my home.

What is on your bucket list?
Swimming with manatees! I consider sea cows my “spirit” animals!

What is your favorite quote?
“Life is better when you’re laughing.”

Who is your inspiration?
My sister, Tracy, is my inspiration. One day she told me that she was going to start her own business, make enough money and open an animal sanctuary for abused and neglected animals. Two years later, she not only created her own virtual run company, but she made it so successful that she reached her dream of opening that animal sanctuary! Now countless animals will be saved because of her determination. She followed her dreams and made them her reality!

Is there a charity you wish more people would know about?
Of course! My sister’s animal sanctuary! She started the official “Erin Reagan Animal Sanctuary.” The mission is “to save as many farm and companion animals as possible through fostering, adoption and education.”

If I could hang out with a cartoon character, who would it be?
Well, he’s more like a giant muppet, but I would spend my day with the Phillie Phanatic! I would read his books to our students as he dramatically acted out the stories.  He is the best mascot- period. The Phillie Phanatic races around on a quad, sticks his enormous tongue out at people when they make him mad, and he has the best dance moves ever! He is quite the motivator! When I taught 4th grade, he was my classroom theme. I had a life-size Fathead on my wall. Kids were “Phanatic about 4th grade”, and we always participated in the “Phanatic about reading” program.  I am and have always loved the Phillie Phanatic! I even use him as the subject of my whimsical paintings! If you ever come to Northwest El, take a peek at my office walls and you will see him!

Keep shining, Kerri! 😎
