March 1st through the 7th is School Social Work Week, and the Reading School District is proud to celebrate the incredible impact of our school social workers!
Every day, our school social workers address the social, emotional, and environmental barriers that impact learning. They support students facing challenges such as trauma, poverty, disability, discrimination, homelessness, and family stress, ensuring that every child has access to the opportunities they deserve.
From connecting families with vital resources to providing counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy, they are a critical part of our Red Knight community. Their compassion, dedication, and commitment help remove barriers to learning and empower students to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
As youth mental health needs continue to rise, school social workers are not a luxury, they are a lifeline.
